Although the core of the Virtuti Militari gameplay is focused on card management, order placement, combat and resource management, the game also features a simple diplomatic system.
During the diplomatic phase each player (starting with the Axis player) has the opportunity to interact with every country in the game in one of the following 2 ways:
- Declare War. Selected country will join opponent faction (Western Allies faction if war is declared by the Axis player or Axis faction if war is declared by the Allies player). On joining war country deploys its forces (units and fortifications) on map.
- Diplomatic Pressure. Player can decide to spend faction’s Production Points to influence War Entry of a Neutral country. If selected country is aligned with the phasing player, its War Entry may increase, bringing it closer to joining war on player’s side. If selected country is aligned with phasing player’s opponent, its War Entry may decrease, moving it further away from joining war on the opponent side. Following effects of Diplomatic Pressure action are possible:
- 50% Chance. No effect.
- 30% Chance. Selected country’s War Entry changes by 10%
