Scripted events represent real historic events and their effects. Some of them will give player a choice, allowing to take a non-historic path. Scripted events get triggered in the beginning of the Diplomatic Phase. Most Scripted Events have a list of conditions which must be met in order to be triggered. Following scripted events are present in the game:
Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact
Triggers when Poland surrenders and USSR is Neutral. Axis player may decide whether to honor the pact or break it. If the pact is honored, Poland is divided between USSR and Germany and USSR remains inactive. If the pact is broken, Germany gets all Poland but the ‘USSR Prepares for War’ event triggers.
USSR Prepares For War
This event is triggered when USSR faction is inactive and one of the following occurs: 1) Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was broken by the Axis player, 2) Axis declared war on Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia 3) It is Early Summer 1941.
The event activates the USSR faction. Activated USSR is not yet at war with Axis, but its War Economy starts growing towards 100%. It can also produce new units, give orders to its units.
The Winter War
Triggers in Winter 1939, if Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was honored. Finland and USSR must be neutral. USSR occupies Vyborg. USA War Entry increases by 10%.
Invasion of Denmark and Norway
Triggers in Spring 1940 if Norway and Denmark are neutral. It will also trigger if one of those countries is neutral while the other is Axis (as a result of Allied Player war declaration). Axis player may decide whether to invade Denmark and Norway at a price of small decrease of Axis War Economy. Invasion is always successful and occupies all of Denmark and Norway, and the USA War Entry increases by 10%.
Soviet Annexation of Baltic States
Triggers in Early Summer 1940 if USSR, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are Neutral and Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was not broken. USSR annexes the three baltic states. USA War Entry increases by 10%.
Soviet Annexation of Bessarabia
Triggers in Early Summer 1940 if Romania and USSR are neutral, and Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was not broken. USSR annexes Chisinau. USA War Entry increases by 10%.
Destroyers for bases
Triggers in Early Summer 1940. United Kingdom receives a level 1 Fleet unit.
Vichy France
Triggers when Paris is occupied by Axis. Axis player may decide to create a Vichy France. If they do, France surrenders. Vichy France created as a neutral state. They keep Toulouse, Vichy, Marseilles and all their colonies in Africa and Middle East. All other French areas are occupied by Germany and all remaining allied units in those areas are eliminated. Germany plunders 60 Production Points. US War Entry increases by 20%. War Entry of Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Spain increases by a random value of 10%, 20% or 30%. It also triggers the ‘Italy Joins Axis’ event.Italy Joins AxisTriggers if axis player decided to create Vichy France. Italy joins the war on Axis side.German Allies Prepare for Invasion of USSRTriggers in Autumn 1940 (or later) if Vichy France was created. War Entry of Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary increases by a random value of 20%, 30% or 40%.
Yugoslav coup d’etat
Triggers in Spring 1941, if Yugoslavia is neutral. Yugoslav War Entry is set to 90%.
USSR Declares War on Germany
Triggers in Spring 1942 if USSR is still Neutral. USSR enters the war.
Soviet Mobilization Phase 1
Triggers in the first turn the USSR is at war. USSR receives 20 Production Points, Level 1 Army, Level 1 Corps and Level 1 Armored Corps ready for deployment.
Soviet Mobilization Phase 2
Triggers in the second turn the USSR is at war. USSR receives 20 Production Points, Level 2 Army, Level 1 Armored Corps and Level 1 Artillery ready for deployment.
Soviet Mobilization Phase 3
Triggers in the third turn the USSR is at war. USSR receives 20 Production Points, Level 1 Corps and Level 1 Armored Division ready for deployment.
Continuation War
Triggers when USSR is at war with Axis and the Winter War event occurred. Finland joins Axis.
Invasion of Iran
Triggers when USSR is at War, Iran is Neutral. May not trigger before Late Summer 1941. Allied player may decide whether to invade Iran. The cost is a 10% decrease of Western Allies War Economy and 5% decrease of USSR War Economy. If the player decides to invade, Iran is partitioned between the USSR and Western Allies.
Siberian Reinforcements
Triggers when USSR is at war, in Spring 1941. USSR receives two level 2 Armies, Level 2 Armored Corps and Level 2 Artillery, ready for deployment.
Attack on Pearl Harbor
Triggers in Winter 1941. USA enters the war. Western Allies War Economy decreases to 40%, as the US economy is not fully ready for war (note: if it’s already below 40%, nothing happens). Three level 2 Fleet units are added to Western Allies production queue with production times of 0, 1 and 2 turns. Level 2 Corps, Level 2 Armored Division and Level 2 Artillery units become available for the Allied player immediately.
Lend-Lease
Triggers when USSR faction is at war and USA is not Neutral. Allied player may decide whether to sign a Lend-Lease act. If signed, Western Allies will lose 5 Production Points each turn while the USSR will gain 10 Production Points each turn, until the end of game.
Total War
Triggers in Winter 1941. Axis War Economy will now increase by 5% each turn if at 100% or higher. If below 100% it increases per regular rules, by 10% each turn.
Strategic Bombing Investment
Triggers in Spring 1942 (or later) if Western Allies War Economy is 25% or greater. Allied player can decide to start building a strategic bombers fleet. If they decide to do so, Western Allies War Economy decreases by 25% and the bombers fleet becomes available in 5 turns (the ‘Strategic Bombing Target Selection’ event starts triggering each turn).
Strategic Bombing Target Selection
Triggers each turn, after the turn when the strategic bombers fleet becomes available. Allied player may choose an Axis Production Points source on map (Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg or Rome) as a target for strategic bombing. Possible effects are (each with equal chance): 1) No Effect 2) Targeted Area permanently loses 1 Production 3) Targeted Area permanently loses 3 Production.
